On 15 September 2018 an unusual ceremony of opening and consecration of the new Retreat and Conference Centre - Centre for African Missions in Borzęcin Duży took place. The Centre for African Missions is a place of meetings, retreats and rest not only for communities, clergy, but for all those who seek silence and spiritual support.

This project, which lasted four years, would not have been possible without the involvement of many companies and institutions, as well as individuals and artists.

Lena Lighting was one of those companies that actively supported the development of the centre. In order to properly illuminate the interior, expose African art and create the right atmosphere, it provided the center with nearly 1200 energy-saving, LED lighting fixtures. Due to the various purposes of the rooms, the use of several types of lamps was designed for the Centre for African Missions. Among them are Corie LED, which illuminate the corridors and the conference room, creating interesting compositions.

Thanks to the use of EXPO LED SYSTEM, places which are worth emphasizing, such as the baobab tree, which is an unusual "decoration" and leaves no doubt as to the links between the Centre and the African continent, have been exposed. The Lungo lamp, which was used at the reception of the centre, also refers to African traditions in its shape. Many of the building’s spaces are illuminated by discreet light from light lines, some of which are hidden in the architecture of the site. In the large conference room, dining room and exhibition hall, the lighting used is controlled by the possibility of composition of many light scenes. This control additionally increases the possibility of arranging a given room depending on the needs of the users and the nature of the meeting.

Why did Lena Lighting S.A. have the pleasure of participating in the creation of this unique place? We learn this from the statements of Father Pawel L. Makosa SMA, the Treasurer of the Polish Province, Association of African Missions:

"The Association of African Missions has an international character; however, during the implementation of the project we focused on Polish producers. Polish supplier provides us with safety and efficient after-sales service. For lighting we chose a manufacturer who offered us a comprehensive range of services, from support in the design process, through workmanship, to as-built service. Lena Lighting offered us not only very aesthetic and designer lamps that fit perfectly into all interiors, but also ones that are highly energy-efficient, thanks to which we will be able to use more funds for activities related to the purpose of our business, and not to the maintenance of the facility. Lena Lighting proved to be the right choice already at the implementation stage of the project. During the execution works, the representatives of this company provided technical advice, worked closely, efficiently and in accord with the architect and, importantly, showed a very high degree of flexibility, which really facilitated the fully satisfactory completion of the works. They have indeed “illuminated” both us as well as the building in the broad sense of the word".
